Myth of the Caves (VENEZUELA)

In all the Venezuelan territory, the Indians of various tribes share the belief that the caves are passageways into the beyond. When a person dies, there is a type of ceremony in the entry to the cave. If you can not hear the noise during the rite, you understand the soul of the deceased pass smoothly into another world. If, you hear noises you suppose that the spirit of the dead has a punishment or correction for his misconduct in this life. People say that bats and other nocturnal animals are transporters of souls.
