Education.. By Estefanía Galvis

Actually, the Colombian education has a half level in comparison with other countries. Colombia is characterized to have four education levels, also in Colombia the students can study in public schools or in private schools; this Colombian system of education is very similar to other systems of education of other countries like Venezuela.
The first education level is the preschooler, in this level the children learn the basic functions of the language and in general this level has duration of 3 years.
The second level is the primary basic education; this level has duration of 5 years. The third level is the secondary education, this level has duration of 6 years, and the last two years of the secondary school are the most important. in the last two years of the secondary school the students study matters like English, political sciences, democracy, chemistry, physics, mathematics, philosophy, etc.
When the students finish the secondary, they have to present an obligatory exam; the name of the obligatory exam is the ICFES. After study in the secondary school the students receive a diploma like “Bachiller academico”. People can work or to study the fourth education level after of the secondary school.
In the fourth education level the students can study a technical career in institutions like the SENA or they can make a pre-grade education and they can study a professional career as medicine, right, infirmary, social communication, etc. The students can study a post-grade education to be the most professional after of study a pre-grade education. The students have to study the pre-grade education and the post-grade education in a university, in Colombia, in this country there are very good universities like the Sabana University, The Javeriana University, The Nacional University, etc.
In conclution, the colombian education isn`t the best but is good for the people that live in this country, also in other countries the education is similar.

Estefanía,
You did a very good job in your two texts. However, your article only describes education in Colombia, how about Venezuela? Remember some vocabulary: undergraduate, postgraduate, subjects, major, subway or metro. What is the meaning of actually?
Keep going.
